Introduction

Though I am not an eloquent person, I have always loved the rhyming word of poetry and I have my moments of creativity in this subject matter. I tend to write from emotion, sometimes from experiences and often tell stories of quite simply what is on my mind. Not necessarily writing for anyone in particular, most of the time just writing thoughts. I have been asked to write poems for other people and some are included in this collection. Read, don't read, the choice is yours... and so is your opinion.

Free to share poetry

All of my writing is registered with copyrights, however I am happy to waiver this for my poetry section and should anyone wish to use my work for song lyrics or share on the internet, all I ask is that credit is given to my name by means of common courtesy, thanks. There are certainly reasons behind what I write and I am sure that over time I shall add explanations to accompany each piece and if possible I shall add some imagery too. If you wish to question any of my work, I shall be happy to respond.

Not Like Yesterday

Silently, Oh how silently, - We'd creep out anyway,
Violently, Yes so violently, - Repressed by what they say,
Every dare, Did we really care? - It was worth it for a while,
Every scare, Children everywhere, - Pain was covered by a smile.

That was the way, that each and every day, Our lives were just a game,
But not today, not like yesterday, Now things aren't quite the same.

We're not living in a world,
Where we'd laugh hysterically,
And the friends that we once had,
Would be friends eternally,

'Cause we're living in a world,
Where there's just reality,
And the dreams that we once had,
Just fade eventually.

Running wild, not the only child, - In the gang who runs the town.
So carefree, climbing every tree, - And our hero was the clown.
Misty haze, in summer holidays, - Mad adventures all around,
Remember when, we'd live within our den, - In child's eyes we smell each sound.

That was how, I remember now, We'd all have our own nick-name,
But not today, not like yesterday, Now things aren't quite the same.

We're not living in a world,
Where we'd laugh hysterically,
And the friends that we once had,
Would be friends eternally,

'Cause we're living in a world,
Where there's just reality,
And the dreams that we once had,
Just fade eventually.

We had so much, for so little, But don't realise 'till it's gone,
Though a part of us still remains, As a child in what we've done.

That was where, Love was very rare, Such innocence with no shame,
But not today, not like yesterday, Now things aren't quite the same.

We're not living in a world,
Where we'd laugh hysterically,
And the friends that we once had,
Would be friends eternally,

'Cause we're living in a world,
Where there's just reality,
And the dreams that we once had,
Just fade eventually.
