Introduction

Though I am not an eloquent person, I have always loved the rhyming word of poetry and I have my moments of creativity in this subject matter. I tend to write from emotion, sometimes from experiences and often tell stories of quite simply what is on my mind. Not necessarily writing for anyone in particular, most of the time just writing thoughts. I have been asked to write poems for other people and some are included in this collection. Read, don't read, the choice is yours... and so is your opinion.

Free to share poetry

All of my writing is registered with copyrights, however I am happy to waiver this for my poetry section and should anyone wish to use my work for song lyrics or share on the internet, all I ask is that credit is given to my name by means of common courtesy, thanks. There are certainly reasons behind what I write and I am sure that over time I shall add explanations to accompany each piece and if possible I shall add some imagery too. If you wish to question any of my work, I shall be happy to respond.

Tears Of A Clown

Looking for the sunshine, Through a multi coloured face.
Always on the look out for a secret hiding place,
But is there really sanctuary within a mortal soul?
And is there only emptiness to fill the painful hole?

The man who wears the funny clothes can't take it any more,
And yet there is the laughter of the crowd he can't ignore.
I'm sure that they don't really know that his smile is but a frown,
Because he is not human, he is just a silly clown.

Don't say it, Don't say that I don't need it,
You don't know what it's like, When you're the only fool in town.
Don't say it, Don't say that I don't see it,
You don't know what it's like, Looking through the tears of a clown,

Lights around a mirror putting make-up on his face,
Is he an inspiration or is he just a disgrace?
Reflections of a life time, putting on a simple act.
Draws the thinnest line between the fiction and the fact.

Why should he be banished forever and a day?
Just because he wasn't shown any other way.
And is it really true that his smile is but a frown?
The truth is only told in the teardrops of a clown.

Don't say it, Don't say that I don't need it,
You don't know what it's like, When you're the only fool in town.
Don't say it, Don't say that I don't see it,
You don't know what it's like, Looking through the tears of a clown.

At the end of the night when the curtains are all down,
And the crowds are out of sight and there's no one else around,
When there's nothing left to do and there's no where left to go,
This is when his tears really start to flow.

Don't say it, Don't say that I don't need it,
You don't know what it's like, When you're the only fool in town.
Don't say it, Don't say that I don't see it,
You don't know what it's like, Looking through the tears of a clown.
